With all of the fancy jargon-rich industry terms flying around, it doesn’t really matter if you call it SEO “search engine optimization“, SEM “search engine marketing“, SMO “social media optimization” or just good old fashioned marketing. The bottom line still remains the same.
Getting your pages in front of the most people with the decision making power that can directly impact your brand is the goal of marketing, worrying about what to call it or if you are doing it right is another. My suggestion, if your looking for an Effective SEO company, they should have optimized the terms most used to find an SEO company, looking for a company specializing in social media, check out sites that should be impartial and provide objective feedback like Technorati and conduct a search for the main keywords in the industry. Hitting your mark has never been as easy as now with the advent of convenience and technology.
Results are the bottom line, so thinking outside the box is great, but sometimes it’s the simpler things in life that make the greatest impact, and common sense is one of them.
