А суть в том, что обычно это наличие внешних ссылок (обычно в футере), которые нельзя убрать либо которые вообще не видны, чем хуже сказываются в последствии на продвижении вашего сайта. Последствия могут быть самые разные, например уменьшить Page Rank  и угодить под фильтр Google  с оплаченными ссылками.
