This change has really effected my search methods. I was blown away of how my efforts have moved up several of my clients to #1 or #2 rankings overnight and how some long term wins dropped immediately.

Nice article.
I am also experiencing heavy fluctuations on my keywords for the past few weeks.
But, I just wonder, will Google begin to loose trust? I mean, one day I see some “questionable” results for searches, a few days later I see more relevant results that disappear again in a few days. This really makes me think that Google does not know what to do and I am loosing a great amount of trust about the quality of the results. Sure, I am pissed, my website is on a roller-coaster, not knowing what the next day will be. We have followed Google guidelines and still I see crappy results popping up, good trusted sites pushed to the 10th page, etc. Again, Google people might try what works best for them, such as AdSense revenue, regardless of the quality of the site, they might be just switching algos off and on all the times. So, Google, sorry but I don’t trust your results anymore.

I’m no SEO Pro (but I do use one) and I’m freaking out. My most important search term on Google went from a hard-earned #5 to #92 in a flash. No other search terms are effected. The other strange thing is that slowly typing in the term (Boquete) on Google doesn’t even bring up the word in the “suggestion” drop down – even when fully typed. This is also something new, as Boquete, Panama is a very popular retirement search. Go figure.

I am a SEO specialist and I have been noticing some of these same results. From my research I have a guess that it is related to Google and their local search project.
