Google does aggregate multiple data centers internationally with some cross-clustering capabilities. Even though the TLD and native hosting environment is a plus, I might suggest setting up sister sites in those countries and then having full disclosure about it. Just don't use the same content and get flagged for duplicate content (but as languages and markets are different) you just want to use unique content.

I have for instance seen overlap in the .co.uk and .ca data for US sites, but beyond that you will need more link citation from sites in those regions to gain significant domain authority and appear in those international SERPs.

What is the best way to optimize a US based .com business with a 100% international target market? I know the "get a local TLD extension,Local (in the target country) hosting & local language drill. What other way can to get high page rank internationally? High page rank on google.com may not help my business. But google.anything else may help.

Assuming almost all things equal in SEO, the most important aspect is to work with someone that really knows the region you're targeting and understands the language and cultural nuances.

Otherwise, someone more familiar with your target market than your US-based SEO company/guy will end up beaten you.

Essentially you can use the human edited directories to find resources for other authority sites.

I understand that e-commerce has its own challenges for SEO (I suggest using allintitle for main keywords)you can still do well through topical link weight and internal links...

Interesting post. As florists based in the UK, we do relay flowers to 140+ countries globally and we often find it hard to build deep links to international pages. Although link worthy content could be the perfect bait to get back links, it becomes a bit difficult for an ecommerce based website, which is mostly about products rather than content and for a relay organisation, listings in Dmoz like human edited directories is out of question unless if we do the paid directories.
