Earlier, I wrote a post on SEO Tips for using SEO Ultimate’s Title Rewriter functionality, but was cut short on time. Instead of revisiting the topic in written format, I opted to create a video instead.
The video summarizes a few of the tactics you can easily implement to enhance your WordPress installation using a trifecta of primary SEO metrics using (1) the Title (2) The URL Naming Conventions using Categories and Postname and (3) The Permalinks and H1 Tag in tandem to produce a optimal and dynamic SEO CMS (content management system).
Prior to SEO Ultimate, the ability to change and fine-tune titles (on a page by page basis or in mass), tags, and categories has never been offered in one convenient SEO Plugin for WordPress.
In addition to this module, SEO Ultimate also has the ability to import settings and meta data from the All in One SEO Pack (so there is no excuse for not migrating to this platform). The plugin is free and available for download from WordPress as well as additional information is available from the SEO Ultimate product information page.

This is really great coverage of your plugin. I use it and love it. When I change any title name or category etc… I seem to end up with a boat load of broken links that show up as 404 errors. In turn I have to use redirect 301. Is there a way to tweak these and have wordpress automatically 301 redirect from the old page that is already indexed, linked too etc…to the new page?
Paul:
Thank you for this opportunity to test and refine SEO Ultimate.
Experimentation is critical to evolution (and function), hence, I have changed the title on this post to see if I can replicate the incident.
If we conclude the same, we will address it in the next update.
In which case, we may wish to know which other plugins you had active to determine if there was a potential conflict and make adjustments as needed.
Previous to this test, the postname for this blog was – “SEO Ultimate WordPress Plugin Title Rewriter Tips” (which still remains in the permalink and URL, but the title has been revised to “WordPress Plugins: SEO Ultimate Title Rewriter” to see which one (a) gets indexed and (b) which SERP the page ranks for.
I will also check for 404 errors and follow up if we determine the same.
Perhaps using an external 301 redirect checker will allow you to gain some context.
Xenu Link Sleuth perhaps, or something which emulates a crawl.
Here is one I found earlier http://www.internetofficer.com/seo-tool/redirect-check/
Thanks again Paul
Thanks Jeffrey,
Perhaps was my mess ups, as I changed category names, page titles etc… which changed the perma links. I think part of what I changed I did in WordPress dashboard and then some in seo as well. Im learning so Im sure it was just something I did wrong.
Still trying to get the best category names for my site.
Not sure if you will see this or not. Perhaps in future versions can add ability to change page titles of posts comments. Webmaster tools picks comment pages as dublicate.
