Static is the most efficient method, but some pages are best set to a dynamic view, because their contents change rapidly or unpredictably. For example, forums can be updated at any time by readers, so a dynamic view works best to display the current comments.

Static pages are good for SEO because static page crawl easily & every crawler consider static page.

Static pages are the best. But only once in the search engines – if you are on a time schedule use dynamic.

I am on Wordpress, and there are just plug ins I download to make my site static. Have not done so though. Maybe soon.

I’ll have to agree that static is going to be far stronger because I firmly believe that the search engines assume that there could be a possibility that dynamically generated information can be altered based on the search. Static links don’t have that capability and therefore carry an assumed level of trust that the info isn’t being altered to trick the spiders. It sounds silly, but even though PHP is preprocessed before the page is delivered, there has to be a physical query that takes place before that happens. The search engines aren’t stupid. If you can go static, go static. It will give you the edge if it comes down to the wire, but that is completely my belief.

I Agree, static sites are good once established, as they have the ability to house the link juice well. However, dynamic sites get indexed and have a tendency to hit the top faster. Once they wane after the fresh content factors wanes, they must be augmented by quality links over time to feed them and all the pages sapping them as a result of internal linking.
