SEO Ultimate, the free WordPress SEO plugin from SEO Design Solutions, has just been upgraded with an importer for the All in One SEO Pack.
The importer can move your data from the All in One SEO Pack (AIOSP) plugin to our SEO Ultimate plugin. This data includes the custom titles and meta tags of your posts and pages. No need to re-enter all your data. With this new importer, making the jump to SEO Ultimate is easier than ever.
How to Switch to SEO Ultimate
Here’s how to do it in 4 easy steps:
- Install or upgrade to the latest version of SEO Ultimate.
- Go to Settings, then click SEO Ultimate
- Scroll to “Import from Other Plugins” and click “All in One SEO Pack”
- Adjust the parameters as desired, then click “Import Now”
The default import parameters won’t make any changes to your All in One SEO Pack setup, so you can easily revert to AIOSP if desired. Or, if desired, you can tell the importer to delete AIOSP’s post meta entries after the import is complete. (Be sure to backup your database before running the importer, just as you would before any other major database change.)
10 Reasons to Switch
For AIOSP users, there are many reasons to consider migrating to SEO Ultimate. SEO Ultimate provides these benefits over the All in One SEO Pack:
- Track “page not found” errors with the 404 Monitor module
- Edit robots.txt and .htaccess with the File Editor
- Access investigative search engine tools with the Competition Researcher and the Internal Relevance Researcher modules
- Encourage natural linkbuilding activity with the Linkbox Inserter
- Optimize post continuation anchor text with the More Link Customizer
- Enable advanced canonicalization options
- Increase in-URL keyword potency with the Slug Optimizer
- Enable/disable the above features as desired with the Module Manager
- No ads or donation nags
- No need to manually re-enable after every upgrade
All in One SEO Pack offers none of the above features. With the new migration tool in the latest version of SEO Ultimate, you can easily make the switch. By default, the importer retains all your AIOSP data, so you can easily switch back if you want.

Oh wow that’s so good!I was not aware of such software and so now i will share this information with others. Thanks for sharing.
Just testing your plugin on one of my sites but it doesn’t seem to play happily with the flexibility theme that im using because it strips away the theme css settings!
When i deactivate the plugin the theme resets back to normal.
Any ideas on a workaround?
Kind regards
I will pass this on to John Lamansky for further inquiry.
The latest problem with some of my plugin is that it does not play well with some of my other plugins. Do you know whether this will work with the other WP plugins.
You can disable modules based on what you need, and it does have a segment to identify conflicts with other potential plugins… That possibility always exists (since it is open source), however, if you have any bugs to report, we would like to hear them so we can fix them by the next update.
I think your product is a great implimentation for wordpress. The means by which you allow editing by page the title tags for individual posts and pages is great.
HOwever, I think you should allow the same functionality for meta description tags and for meta keywords tags.
Any chance you are going to impliment that any time soon?
@hughmac: Could you please list the steps needed to replicate the problem? Thanks.
@Atchuthan Sriskandarajah: As far as I know, SEO Ultimate shouldn’t conflict with other plugins, as long as those plugins don’t provide similar functionality.
@Chris O’Hagan: Yes, this “en-masse meta editor” feature is in the works. In the meantime, here’s how to do it on a per-post basis:
1. Go to “Posts > Edit” or “Pages > Edit” in the WordPress admin
2. Pick the post/page you want to edit
3. Edit the meta description/keywords as desired in the “SEO Settings” box
Anyone have a problem with re-activating this plug-in after an upgrade to Word press 2.9.2? – I’ve just upgraded but SEO Ultimate won’t re-activate?
on
with wp 2.92 when i install seo ultimate the settings menu for all of the other installed plugins can no longer be seen
please help
@Richard Cantwell: I tried upgrading one of my blogs to 2.9.2 and SEO Ultimate continued to work fine. I’m not sure what the problem is. Do you get a certain error message when you try to active SEO Ultimate?
@webintegrity: Which plugins are disappearing? Where are their settings pages located in the menu?
Looks just like what the plumber ordered!
thanks very much for this plugin; it looks like a real beauty!
kind regards,
Jan
Hi John
all i did was to install and activate the Ultimate plugin then the Flexibility theme css settings disappeared.
I deactivated Ultimate then the css settings reappeared so I tried activating the plugin again and again the the theme lost the css settings.
Frustrating because it looks a great plugin
@hughmac: This problem is now fixed in version 1.7.1 and later. Thanks for the bug report.
Thanks John works fine now!
I have just found this and I must say I am impressed.
I have one question about a difference with the AIOSP plugin and that is the ability to rename the title and menu title. can you do this with your plugin and will it import the data form the AIOSP if i migrate to this?
Thanks
I love this all in one seo pack. I think that every blogger should have this plugin. This is a great post. Thanks.
Is it possible to import settings from the Platinum Seo Pack?
Sorry Andrew:
We have not written an interface for that plugin to import settings, only the All in one SEO Pack. However, with the title and meta rewriter functionality, it wont take long to edit hundreds of pages (from one screen) and then mass update them all with SEO Ultimate.
@Andrew: SEO Ultimate can import from All in One, but not Platinum SEO (yet). However, you can use the SEO Data Transporter plugin to move your Platinum SEO data to All in One, thus allowing you to use the All in One importer of SEO Ultimate.
thanks for your information. I have known that All in One SEO Pack is the best SEO Plugin. But while I check at the forum, I just knew that SEO Ultimate is better.
Thanks again
