WordPress SEO Plugin SEO Ultimate Version 1.9 Released

SEO Ultimate, as well as other SEO plugins (like All in One SEO Pack or Platinum SEO Pack), let you apply title rewriting formats to category archives that apply the same “fill-in-the-variables” template to all category tags. But never before have you been able to customize title tags on a per-category basis.

That’s exactly what the latest SEO Ultimate release lets you do: customize the title tag for every single category on your WordPress blog. As far as we know, this is unique functionality that you can’t find in any other plugin. This powerful feature unleashes the ability to use your categories as ranking tools.

With the proper preliminary keyword research and site authority, you can target long-tail SERP positions by phrase-matching your category’s tag with the keyword in question.

When you combine this powerhouse SEO Ultimate feature with a clever use of built-in WordPress functionality, you can simultaneously optimize category pages and alleviate duplicate-content concerns. By providing excerpts for each of your posts (and using a WordPress theme with excerpts on category archives), and by providing category descriptions in WordPress’s category manager (along with a theme that outputs these descriptions), you can provide unique content on your category pages that gives your categories the potential for SERP rankings.

It also provides visitors with helpful thematic hubs that list posts related to your site’s various subtopics. This unique feature from our WordPress SEO lab equips you with the potential to dominate the SERPs with your categories. (No longer will the WordPress SEO focus sphere be limited to posts and pages.)

This functionality can’t be found elsewhere. It’s yet another reason to try out SEO Ultimate or to upgrade to the latest version. Download your free copy today from WordPress.org, or visit our plugin information page for additional functionality info and an informational video.

  1. chandan says:

Thank you for the nice update information on wordpress plug in.

  2. Elliot says:

Love the plugin guys, but just noticed that upon install a text link has appeared at the bottom of my blog which says “Search engine optimization by SEO Design Solutions”.

    How do I remove this?

  3. @Elliot: Go to “Settings > SEO Ultimate,” uncheck the “attribution link” option, and click “Save Changes.”

  4. I have 3 sites that use the latest V1.9 SEO Ultimate plug-in – i’ve upgraded all 3 to WordPress 2.9.2 and can’t re-activate this plug-in? – can anyone help?

  5. @Richard: What error message are you getting when you try to reactivate SEO Ultimate?

  6. Don says:

Thanks for this going to try this out today.

  7. Raphael says:

Hi, i installed this plugin, but how to import from all in one seo pack?

  8. Todd Jones says:

I thought this was a good plug-in but I didn’t like the way it auto-generated a backlink to their site (I guess nothing is really free!) had trouble deleting it from the interface too. Good features overall.

  9. @Raphael: Go to “Settings > SEO Ultimate” and scroll down to the “Import from Other Plugins” section

@Todd Jones: I’m sorry you had problems with the attribution link. The plugin doesn’t add an attribution link without your permission, so it sounds like you’re describing unintended plugin behavior. Could you please provide additional info? (e.g. what version of SEO Ultimate you were using, what steps you took, and what problems you ran into).

  10. Raphael says:

Thx m8, now is working sweet :)

  11. Love the idea of the plugin, but when installed on Atahualpa 3.53 theme, it broke it badly. Posts were appearing above the header, then again in the post. Very weird. Had to go back to All-In-One-SEO…

  12. Hey Tom:

Thanks for the heads up. Must have been a conflict with one of the hooks. You could either disable certain modules, or call the two a bad mix. We will make note. Thanks….
